Contact Lens Fittings

When you want to wear contact lenses to correct your vision, you need an eye exam that includes a contact lens fitting. It's important for the fitting to happen every time you get new contact lenses. To get a fitting, ask for a contact lens exam when it's time for your next eye tests at our optometry practice. Getting new contacts is important, even if you don't need a new vision prescription. Contact lenses come with a specific amount of time that they should be worn. After that, they can do damage to your eyes if your prescription has changed. When you need eye care, call our optometry center in Rocklin, CA, to get an exam and “prescription lenses near me.” We at Precision Optometry are here to help.

Your Contact Lens Fitting

When you need new contacts, you will need to have your eyes measured. This ensures that the contact lenses you get are the ones that will fit you best. The goal of the contact lens fitting is to make sure that your contacts are going to fit well and be comfortable as well as allowing you to see your best.

During a contact lens exam, our optometrist will measure the surface of your eye. This will tell her the curvature of your eye so that the contact lenses with the right curve and size can be prescribed.

Trying on Contact Lenses

Our optometrist may have you try on a few different contacts to find out which will fit you the best. If you have not worn contact lenses before, you might also be taught how to use and care for your contacts. You may be given a trial pair of contacts for some time as you get used to them. If you adjust to them well, you can then get more contacts to keep at home. You may have the option to get daily contacts or those that can be worn for longer.
